Portret największego francuskiego reżysera, zmarłego w 2022 Jeana-Luca Godarda, który „oddychał kinem”. Godard jest uznawany za jednego z najbardziej wpływowych twórców francuskiej Nowej Fali. W wieku 30 lat, jeszcze jako odnoszący sukcesy krytyk filmowy, pokazał światu swój debiutancki film fabularny „Do utraty tchu” (1960) i wywołał szok kulturowy w medium, z którego film nigdy się nie otrząśnie. Godard nadał zupełnie nowy kształt kinu, czyniąc z rozrywki formę sztuki.

REŻYSER

Cyril Leuthy 

Jest francuskim dokumentalistą i montażystą. Ukończył paryską szkołę filmową Le Fémis. Początkowo Leuthy pracował głównie jako montażysta przy wielu filmach dokumentalnych. Jako filmowiec koncentruje się na archiwalnych portretach artystów, takich jak Maurice Chevalier i Jean-Pierre Melville. „La Nuit s'achève” był jego pierwszym filmem fabularnym. Swoją premierę miał na festiwalu Visions du Réel w Nyon, gdzie zdobył nagrodę specjalną Regard Neuf dla najbardziej innowacyjnego debiutu.

DESCRIPTION

A portrait of France's greatest director, Jean-Luc Godard (1930-2022), who “breathed cinema”. Godard is regarded as one of the most influential creators of the French New Wave. At the age of 30, while still a successful film critic, he showed the world his debut feature "Breathless" (1960) and caused a culture shock in a medium from which film would never recover. Godard gave a whole new shape to cinema, making entertainment an art form.

Cyril Leuthy

He is a French documentary filmmaker and editor. He graduated from the Paris Film School Le Fémis. Leuthy has worked primarily as editor on many documentaries. He focuses on archival portraits of artists such as Maurice Chevalier and Jean-Pierre Melville. "The Night is Fading" was his first feature film. It premiered at Visions du Réel in Nyon where it won the Special Prize Regard Neuf for the most innovative first film.
